BACARDí SPICED X DEFECTED: D-RUM SESSIONS

Bacardí rum has a long-standing association with music. Hailing from the Caribbean, we have knack for bringing people together, creating a vibe and putting on a good party.
This autumn, Bacardí spiced up music lovers’ Friday nights with the D-RUM SESSIONS: an exciting (and incredibly groovy) new 5-part music series, bringing together iconic dance and house music label Defected Records and long-time friend of Bacardí, Maya Jama.
Curated by Defected, the stellar line-up featured Glitterbox’s Melvo Baptiste, underground favourite and Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton, Club Bad founder Melé, house legend Spiller, Defected’s very own Monki and Afro-house trailblazer Kitty Amor.
Each live event brought banging tunes and delicious BACARDí Spiced cocktails to a small (and very excited) crowd at Defected HQ in East London, while livestreaming the vibes to millions of music fans via Twitch.

And if you want to recreate at home the delicious Bacardí Spiced cocktails made by world-class bartender La’Mel Clarke (of the esteemed London cocktail bar Lyaness) and inspired by the artists’ sets, we got you covered:
BACARDÍ Frigh-Tai (Maya’s cocktail)
40ml BACARDÍ Spiced
15ml lime juice
15ml grenadine
1 tsp caster sugar
2 drops of almond essence
70ml orange juice
Add all the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. Garnish with an orange wedge.
BACARDÍ Spiced, Apple & Ginger (Monki’s drink)
50ml BACARDÍ Spiced
50ml apple juice
2 dashes of Angostura bitters (optional)
50ml ginger ale (or ginger beer for extra spice!)
1 squeeze of lime
Build all ingredients in a highball glass over cubed ice. Stir and garnish with a slice of lime.
BACARDÍ Caribbean Highball (Melvo’s drink)
50ml BACARDÍ Spiced
50ml pineapple juice
1 squeeze of lime
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
50ml ginger beer
Build ingredients in a highball glass with cubed ice. Stir and garnish with a slice of lime.
BACARDÍ Spiced Pineapple Swizzle (Archie’s drink)
50ml Bacardi Spiced
25ml pineapple juice
10ml lime juice
20ml sugar syrup (or 2 tsp sugar)
2-3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Top with a splash of soda
Add all ingredients to a glass with ice and stir. Top with a splash of soda. Garnish with slices of lime.
BACARDÍ Spiced Punch (Spiller’s drink)
50ml BACARDÍ Spiced
50ml lemonade
50ml peach tea
Add all ingredients to a glass with ice and gently stir. Garnish with a slice of lime.
BACARDÍ Ray of Light (Mele’s drink)
50ml BACARDÍ Spiced
15ml Martini Bianco
Blood orange syrup (or 2 tsp sugar & 10 ml OJ)
20ml lemon
Top with Soda
Add all the ingredients (except the soda) into a shaker with ice and shake. Top with soda. Garnish with orange.
BACARDÍ Spiced and Sparkle (Kitty’s drink)
35ml BACARDÍ Spiced
35ml red wine
10ml lemon
15ml sugar syrup (or 2 tsp sugar)
35ml cranberry juice
Build all ingredients into a glass and stir.
For hot version: heat gently over a stove (don’t boil) and serve in a cup.
