  • 1 oz BACARDÍ Superior rum
  • 1/2 oz BACARDÍ Black rum
  • 1/4 oz grenadine
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz cranberry juice

  • 3 oz BACARDÍ Black rum
  • 1 1/2 oz grenadine
  • 6 oz orange juice
  • 6 oz pineapple juice
  • 3 oz cranberry juice

Mix

In a large container, combine all the liquid ingredients.

Refrigerate the mix until chilled.

What is the rum punch origin story?

Rum Punch is widely considered to be the one of the world’s earliest cocktails. 17th-century sailors in the tropics found their ale and wine going bad in the warm climate so turned to spirits tamed by fruit juices instead. As for the name, some say ‘punch’ comes from the Hindi word for ‘five’ – referring to the five elements that define a true punch: sweet (fruit and sugar), sour (lime or lemon), alcohol (rum, brandy or arrack), water, and spice (nutmeg). Others say it means ‘short and stout’ because it was served in squat casks which are, to this day, called Puncheons.
